Leave Your Mark
As you know, I am steeped in the lore and world of the Azteca, a mythical race that forms the cornerstone of the upcoming Sunfall gamebook series. I asked them for guidance in dark times – and yes, that includes the times when the great river of Amazon does not carry my work to new readers as swiftly as I would like.
The old ones tell me the truth is simple: in their age, the gods lived or withered according to the offerings they received. A bowl of maize. A cut of blood. A name repeated at dawn. Without these tributes, even the most terrible god would fade into dust.
And so it is now, though the sacrifices have changed. The great river’s guardian – the Amazon-beast – does not hunger for blood or maize anymore. It desires words. Invocation. Reviews.
A few words offered by each traveller who has walked the lands of despair. A sentence or two carved into the digital stone so that others may know there is life (and death) within those pages.
A handful of words will do: what you liked, what lingered, what kept you reading. The length matters less than the offering itself.
So if you have walked the paths of DestinyQuest and await the coming of Sunfall, the Azteca ask you to leave your mark. Carve your name. Keep the fire burning. A blessing for those who come next.
This is the final age. Heroes have died, great legacies have faded, yet the drums of the next journey are already beating. Sunfall is coming – built on the skulls and bones of its ancestors.
Leave a review. Share your joy, your rage, your triumphs. Every word feeds the fire.
Happy adventuring,
Mike W
