Well I have resolved my predicament by purchasing the eBay collector's set as well!
I'm more than happy to buy two copies of this book to support the endeavour!
That'll be one book for playing with, and one for Sunday best! ;-)
I still haven't started playing the book yet because I refuse to do so until I receive my special DQ dice! haha

I bought my book at Amazon so I don't have a loot card. What does it do?

loot card gives you an item for your character you can equip if you want. I got some gauntlets that were "okay" but didn't keep for too long. Artwork is really nice on the card though.

I think I was luckier and got a ring that was helpful for most of act1 
Knight's rose (+1 brawn +1 magic: ability martyr) I would be interested to know what is on all the other cards.
